This event is designed to support educators of color considering career opportunities within independent schools. The main objective is to help candidates learn the best ways to navigate and prepare for the independent school hiring process and the NYSAIS Job Fair to Promote Diversity.

Candidates will hear from representatives from a variety of independent schools and will receive advice on refining their resumes before participating in the job fair or applying for positions.  Participants will also gain clarity on the hiring structures typically used within these schools from the point of contact, to interviews and demo lessons.

Candidates of Color Connect 2017 is designed to help candidates understand the application and hiring process before they apply for a position or pre-register for the NYSAIS Job Fair to Promote Diversity. Early Registration before February 1st - NYSAIS Members Only

  • Member Rate  - $650 per school

Regular Registration beginning February 1st

  • Member Schools - $795 per school
  • Non-Member Schools - $925 per school

10:00 School representatives may begin to set up tables
10:00 Box lunches available to school representatives (2 per school)
11:00 Networking & interviewing with pre-registered candidates begins
12:00 Networking & interviewing with on-site candidates begins
2:00 Networking & Interviewing Ends
