Back by popular demand, this is a practical, experiential and fun introductory workshop on differentiated practices for the teaching of Mindfulness.
We will learn very accessible methods to practice and teach, with break out groups to try each out. Focus will be on basic tenets to help you mindfully breathe, see, listen, speak, vibrate and teach. These will be age appropriate through lower, middle and upper divisions; evidence based practices you and your students, families, can do in the classroom or at home. The workshop also includes ways to embed and customize Mindfulness practices into your curriculum.

Participants will leave this workshop with new approaches; day-to-day practices, and a deeper understanding through experiential methods, of how to reduce stress and anxiety, generate true feelings of compassion and positive aspirations for themselves and their students. This in turn will activate and renew their own energy flow and ability be more effective, regardless of their subject or grade level. Using these methods with students can help them with focus, anxiety, and productivity.
Resources will be made available online including access to creative visualizations, written works, audio recordings and apps with beautifully relaxing sound tools to use in mindfulness meditation sessions. They will be more confident with both their understanding and tool belt resources. Links to active peer groups for staying connected to a network of professionals in the field doing similar work will also be provided.
Daniel Lauter, aka Mindful Dan, Meditation DJ, has been facilitating workshops in Mindfulness and Meditation for over thirty years. He is a consultant for Mindfulness practices and curriculum development for NYC area independent schools and has presented on Mindfulness at educational ECIS conferences in Barcelona, Copenhagen and NAIS in San Francisco. As an educator he holds a Masters in Educational Technology, and is dual certified as a Technology Integration Specialist and Music K-12. Additionally, he is certified as an Integrative Music and Sound Practitioner within the field of the Healing Arts. A composer and musician, he writes and records guided meditations and also performs with Clarinet, Saxophone, Quartz Crystal Bells, Tibetan Bowls, Didjeridu, Spoken Word, Sampler and other Objects d' Sound.
Daniel has released two mindfulness books this past year, ‘Abundance to Zen: A Mindfulness Dictionary’; and ‘Where Skipping Stones Pause’ a wonderful introductory book of twelve mindfulness practices.
