Librarians and Technology Integrators: a Collaborative Workshop
Back by popular demand, this workshop sold out in October, 2014.
Library and technology are supposed to be - and can be - a match made in heaven. But have you ever struggled to find a common vocabulary? Wondered if terminal commands and the Dewey Decimal system can live together in harmony or if Melville Dewey and Steve Jobs could ever fall in love?
This day long "couples retreat" will combine unconference and team building activities focused on strengthening the connections between educational technology and library. This event is designed to give librarians and technology teachers and integrators the opportunity to brainstorm collaborative projects that highlight the natural partnerships between the two areas. Whether you already work towards collaboration or you struggle to see the connection between tech and library, this is the conference for you!
Who is this conference for?
Anyone who's job description includes library, technology or integrator. We encourage professionals to come in teams with at least one librarian and one technologist, but solo representatives from schools are also welcome. In fact, singletons may come away with a new partnership by the end of the day!
There will be two Unconference sessions based on topics participants submit when registering. We will move on to a session of "speed dating" where attendees will be able to connect with teachers from other schools, and end with a project "blind date" where participants will come away with a tried and tested project or curriculum idea generated from the expertise of conference attendees.
