Best Practices for Teaching Online
Director of Technology, Professional Children’s School
Monday, March 9 (4:00 - 5:00 pm)
In this workshop Liz will provide best practices for learning and teaching online: workflows for coursework and assessment, mechanisms for interaction and feedback, and methods for communication. The strategies we will discuss are platform-independent and tool-independent. No Learning Management System (LMS) is required! We will cover asynchronous as well as synchronous delivery methods and you will conclude the workshop with a better understanding of how to design, implement, and deliver learning in an online environment.
Lizbeth Johnson is the Director of Technology at Professional Children's School in New York City, where students commonly complete their studies online. She has developed an online summer school at PCS and regularly trains teachers in the methodologies and pedagogy of online learning.
