NYSAIS-Now - Distance Teaching and Learning Series

In response to the current need for teachers to learn and share successful techniques to promote distance learning, NYSAIS has launched a Distance Teaching and Learning Series of eSeminars that focus on the needs of children across the N-12 spectrum. eSeminars in this series are free for NYSAIS members. The non-member rate is $100.

Amidst the uncertainty of the current global health situation, this weekly session will provide NYSAIS educators a chance to come together for resilience practices and self-care.  Each week will include a mix of mindfulness, gentle movement, connection, and Q&A support that will resource us to be the caregivers in our respective communities.

Join every Tuesday at 3:30 - 4:30. A single registration will cover any or all of the series. Currently we are planning for 4 weeks.


NYSAIS member schools - no charge

Crystal McCreary is a Health Educator at the Dalton School in New York. She committed to fostering wellness in individuals by creating brave spaces to connect, learn, and build resilience in a world that often fractures the inherent wholeness of body, mind, and heart. Her work as a consultant and yoga and mindfulness educator enhances the health and wellness initiatives of schools, organizations and corporations through professional development and conference workshops, webinars, trainings, classes, and lovingly curated wellness retreats internationally. Crystal’s programs emphasize the importance of self-care as the gateway to social justice, compassionate communities, sustainable work environments and collective healing in the world. She is involved with many organizations that aim to support youth and the adults who serve them including CUNY-Hunter Public Health Department, Mindful Schools, Yoga Alliance, Lineage Project, and Bent on Learning. Alan Brown is Director of Integrative & Co-Curricular Learning at Grace Church School, where he leads mindfulness & positive education programs for students, faculty, and for parents. Alan serves as Lead Teacher and Curriculum Designer of Mindful Schools’ Mindful Teacher Certification Program, where he trains hundreds of teachers each year to have their own mindfulness practice and to teach mindfulness to youth. He regularly leads mindfulness retreats and workshops for educators. Through his firm, Learning to Thrive, Alan consults with many schools in the tri-state area on growing their own mindfulness and positive education programs.
