Distance Learning For Problem Based Math - Grades 5-8

Kathleen O'Brien, The Town School

Join Kathleen O'Brien, a 7th and 8th grade math teacher at The Town School, as she shares the challenges and opportunities of teaching a problem based middle school math curriculum remotely.
Kathleen will spend the first portion of the webinar presenting the online tools and practices she has incorporated into her brick and mortar classes, the online tools and practices she has tried to incorporate and found less useful than expected, and the changes in practice that can be made to maximize the use of synchronous learning time for problem based math in a virtual setting.
The second portion of the webinar will be an organized discussion of further challenges, solutions, vetted tools, and opportunities brought up and discussed by webinar participants.
With this unexpected change in how we will teach, let's take this opportunity to draw upon each other's experience and ideas to help us all create a successful virtual classroom for our students.

NYSAIS member schools - no charge

Non-members - $50.00
