NYSAIS-Now - Distance Teaching and Learning Series

In response to the current need for teachers to learn and share successful techniques to promote distance learning, NYSAIS has launched a Distance Teaching and Learning Series of eSeminars that focus on the needs of children across the N-12 spectrum. eSeminars in this series are currently free for NYSAIS members. The non-member rate is $50.

Presenters

Carmen Campos Ed.D.  is a Spanish Middle School teacher at the Dalton School in NYC.  Carmen has over 30 years of teaching experience and her passions include teaching with puppets and tech tools in the World Language classroom. She has presented on puppetry and tech in the classroom at many regional and national organizations and uses puppets and VR and 360-degree images in her own classes. Carmen’s website, PuppetEd.com, chronicles all her puppet creations and catalogs tons of ideas for incorporating puppetry into the language curriculum.



Lori Langer de Ramirez, Ed.D. is a Spanish teacher and Director of World and Classical Languages & Global Language Initiatives at the Dalton School in New York City. Lori has 25+ years of teaching experience and is the author of books, texts and articles about language teaching and learning and multicultural education. Her areas of research and curriculum development are folktales and authentic materials and technology in language teaching, with an emphasis on webtools. Lori presents workshops at local, regional and national conferences and works with teachers in schools throughout the U.S. and around the world. Her website, MisCositas.com, offers free materials for teaching Spanish, English, French, and come LCTLs.
