Find Your Balance: How to Build a Stress Management Practice that Works for You

Stephanie Simpson, Riverdale Country School

Target Audience:  Anyone who would like to learn new ways to manage their stress in order to maintain their health and productivity

The past few weeks have been new territory for all of us. We are navigating how to work from home, care for our families, support our students, and stay connected to our communities. Many times we forget that we need to take care of ourselves first in order to do all those other things successfully. In this seminar, participants will learn about the positive and negative effects of stress and will be introduced to several stress management tools. Participants will then be empowered to create their own stress management practice that can be integrated into their daily routines.

Stephanie Simpson (she/her/hers) is an Artist, Educator, and Coach. Drawing on her background in movement, mindfulness, and psychology, she guides people to achieve their greatest potential by nurturing the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. She is the Director of the Middle and Upper School Dance Program as well as the Director of Performance Coaching at Riverdale Country School. Stephanie holds an MFA in Dance Performance/Choreography from Smith College and an MA in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Spirituality, Mind, Body and a focus in Organizational Change from Columbia University, Teachers College. Her research focuses on fear and stress management, leadership development, and creativity/innovation.
