Please note that while no one will be excluded, this event is designed to increase the number of teachers and administrators of color within independent schools.

We are offering free, 60-minute, live webinars with current independent school employees sharing wisdom and experience. All webinars will also be recorded to support candidates in their preparation for the Job Fair. You can attend any or all of the webinars. You can watch last year's recordings HERE

Registration

Registration will open on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Registration is required to attend the job fair and to allow schools to search for your résumé.

  • Complete the registration form. Please be sure to save your résumé in the format of LastName,FirstName.pdf or .doc. 
  • There is NO FEE for candidates.
  • A BA or BS by September 2022 is required to attend.
  • Certification is NOT required and college seniors are encouraged to attend.

On the day of the Job Fair

  • Be prepared to chat with many schools on the day of the fair. Each chat will last about 10 minutes, while some will be in the form of a video chat. 
  • Ensure that you have a professional background or a blank wall behind you and that you are in a quiet space where you can converse with the recruiter. 
  • You can view the video, embedded below, to familiarize yourself with what the experience will be like on the day of the event. 

Accessing Job Postings

  • Candidates can access job postings at any time at the NYSAIS website under Career Center > Job Postings. This information is posted directly by the schools and is updated regularly.
  • Candidates will have also be able to search the Electronic Job Fair Job Board during the Job Fair where the most current anticipated vacancies are announced.
  • The only requirement to attend is a BA or BS by September 2022.
  • Certification is NOT required and college seniors are encouraged to attend.

Frequently Asked Questions
1.    Can you forward a list of the anticipated vacancies available?

Electronic Job Fair Job Board access instructions will be sent to pre-registered candidates about one week before the event. This is a separate database from the general job postings on the NYSAIS website. Only NYSAIS member schools may post on the general listing. The Electronic Job Fair Job Board includes postings from all schools attending the event, which does include non-NYSAIS Independent Schools.

Candidates can access general (NYSAIS Member School) job postings at any time at the NYSAIS website under Career Center /  Job PostingsOr, can look directly on NYSAIS member school sites for employment or career opportunities. This information is posted directly by the schools and is updated regularly.

2.    Can someone who hasn’t pre-registered still attend and register the day of the job fair? Yes, please complete the registration process here (opening Monday, January 4, 2022).

3.    What if I am unable to attend the Job Fair from 10:00-2:00 pm?
The candidate schedule is meant as a guideline to provide you with as much information as to plan your day.  All of the events that take place during the morning are optional. Please come to the Job Fair at the time you are able to attend keeping in mind that meeting and networking with school representatives will take place from 10:00 am until 2 pm.
