International School of Brooklyn (ISB) is an independent, non-profit school that is known for its innovative and robust Pre-K 3 to 8th Grade French and Spanish language immersion program and International Baccalaureate curriculum.  ISB seeks a Full-Time DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS AND ENROLLMENT for the 2021-2022 school year

 The Director of Admissions and Enrollment reports to the Assistant Head of School and works with all constituents – students, parents, and teachers - in the International School of Brooklyn community in support of the school’s mission. The Director of Admissions and Enrollment attends Senior Administrator meetings. The Director of Admissions and Enrollment is responsible for student recruitment and retention, student records and management of all admissions-related programs and activities.  The Director of Admissions and Enrollment is directly responsible for designing and building an admissions program, the systems necessary to carry off the functions of the office, and the marketing and admissions campaign determined to be in the best interests of the school.

 The Director of Admissions and Enrollment supervises the staff in the Admissions and Enrollment Department.

Key Responsibilities include:

 STUDENT RECRUITMENT/SCHOOL MARKETING

 Organize and implement outreach efforts aimed at attracting students appropriate to the school, including open houses, information sessions, and school fairs

 Present the school to prospective students and parents, including handling inquiries and applications, written communication, tours and interviews

 Maintain memberships in admissions-related professional associations

 Maintain contact with feeder schools, independent placement counselors, educational consultants, medical professionals, administrators from other schools, and other sources of students for the school

 Build a network of current and former parents, current students, and alumni who assist with admissions programs.  Provide a training and guidance for these volunteers

Work with the Advancement Office to create and execute an admissions marketing plan

Develop and implement a consistent admissions process, compatible with the overall mission of the school and covering inquiry to enrollment

Coordinate activities related to on-site visits, play-based assessments, tours and interviews

Conduct student and parent interviews

Follow-up periodically with promising candidates, students admitted but not yet enrolled, and already-enrolled students prior to their coming to school

Leads the prospective students reviews with the applicable Division Directors and Head of School

Serve as a member of the Tuition Assistance Committee

Attend meetings and manage paperwork related to the French Bourse system

Work with the Advancement Office on the implementation of an alumni program

 ADMISSIONS OFFICE MANAGEMENT

Work with the Business Office to create and maintain an admissions budget

Oversee the creation of appropriate admissions materials/publications and promotional materials, in conjunction with the Advancement Office

Conduct mailings as needed

Update the admissions section of the website

Manage the admissions module of the database

Maintain statistics on all aspects of the admissions and re-enrollment process from year to year (enrollment, retention, tuition assistance, etc.) 

ENROLLMENT AND STUDENT RECORDS MANAGEMENT

Works with the Admissions Associate and Program Assistant in work relating to student records, attendance, student files, transcripts, etc.

Oversee the re-enrollment contract process, which is executed jointly with the Business Office

OTHER

Participate in the work of the senior administrative team as required by the Head of School

Prepare enrollment reports for the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee

Attend Board of Trustees meetings, as required, to provide periodic admissions updates

Brief the faculty each summer regarding incoming students

Evaluate all aspects of the admissions program annually, and redesign as needed

Support the school, its mission, and leadership

Other duties as assigned by the Head of School
